Jason Wong qualified from University of Birmingham in 1995. He joined the practice soon after and became a partner at the practice in 1998.

Jason was awarded a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies by Bristol University in 2011 and a Certificate in Clinical Education with merit in 2012.

Jason carries out treatment in all areas of General Dentistry and has 2 main areas of clinical special interests; Dental Implantology and the treatment of nervous patients.

He has been involved with Implant Dentistry since 2000 initially restoring them, then carrying out the surgery. He is a member of the association of Dental Implantology (UK) and also the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and runs an ITI study club for Dentists on Implantology.

Jason is a member of the society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry and is experienced in devising treatment options for anxious and phobic patients.

Jason is a director of Perspective Dental Education and is involved in Postgraduate Dental Education and lectures nationally on Oral surgery, minimal invasive Dentistry, Implant Dentistry and treatment of anxious patients.

Jason is active in other areas of Dentistry in particular Oral health promotion and spends part of his week as the Dental Local professional network chair for NHS England and NHS Improvement advising commissioners and providing clinical advice to improve patient care. Jason spends some of his time as the honorary Secretary of the Lincolnshire Local Dental Committee and is also a past chair of the Kesteven and Holland section of the British Dental Association and the Lincolnshire Oral Health Advisory Group. Jason is also currently the Vice chair of the Healthy Teeth Happy Smiles Oral health promotion partnership board and the Oral Health advisory group in Luton.

Dr Fawad Ashraf BDS Manc Eng, 2005, GDC85289


Fawad graduated from the University of Manchester in 2005 and came to work at the Maltings soon after.

Along with the provision of high quality routine dentistry, Fawad has developed a keen interest and passion in cosmetic dentistry. He has achieved certification and introduced a number of the latest teeth straightening systems (orthodontics) including, Invisalign, Six Months Smiles and the Inman Aligner in to the practice. Having straighter teeth allows patients the opportunity to significantly improve their smiles without the need for significant tooth preparation enabling us to improve smiles in a conservative manner.

Outside of dentistry Fawad enjoys travelling, cycling, and spending time with his family. Fawad is happily married and is blessed with 4 lovely children.



Dr Peter Butcher BChD Leeds, Eng 2001, PGDip (Endo) Chester 2016, MFGDP(UK), GDC79283


Peter was born and raised in the Grantham area.  He qualified at the University of Leeds in 2001 and joined the Maltings Dental Practice in 2006, becoming a Partner in 2011.

Peter enjoys providing all aspects of general dentistry for his patients.  He has a special interest in root canal treatment (endodontics) and has completed a postgraduate diploma in this subject.  This enables him to complete complex cases referred to him from colleagues within the Maltings Dental Practice and practices in the surrounding towns and cities.

Peter has additionally received training enabling him to treat patients whose dentists are unable to diagnose the source of their pain and also to treat patients who require restoration of their dental implants.  In addition to traditional dental procedures, Peter also undertakes Facial Aesthetics including the application of anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers.

Peter is a member of the British Dental Association, the British Endodontic Society, the American Association of Endodontists, the International team for Implantology and the Facility of General Dental Practitioners.

Peter has been approved by the Health Education East Midlands to be an Educational Supervisor for Foundation Dental Training.  Peter is also the secretary of the Kesteven and Holland BDA section.  Both of these roles allow him to facilitate the education and development of local dental practitioners. He is currently undertaking a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education.

He spends the majority of his free time taking his children to football training and gymnastics.

Mandy was born in Grantham and returned to the area after qualifying from Birmingham Dental School in 1995 with clinical distinction. After working for several years in the area Mandy joined The Maltings Dental Practice in 2001.  Mandy spent several years as a part time clinical assistant in Oral Surgery at Grantham Hospital. Currently Mandy enjoys providing high quality dental care. Mandy is married and has two children and enjoys spending time with her family.


Dr Helen Sloss BDS Birm Eng, 1985. MFDS.RCS.Eng 2004, GDC60606


Helen qualified from Birmingham University in December 1985.  She moved to St Catherines Dental Practice in 1992 and became a partner in 2001.  In 2010 she completed the Diploma in Primary Care Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons and is now recognised as a Dentist with a Special Interest in Orthodontics.  Helen provides general dental treatment and orthodontics on Tuesdays & Wednesdays at St Catherines Dental Practice.  She also works one day a week at the local Specialist Orthodontic department at Grantham Hospital, and one day a week providing orthodontic treatment at The Maltings Dental Practice.

Dr Claire Simpson BChd Leeds Eng, 2010, MJDP 2012, PG Cert Rest. GDC192532


Claire was born and raised in the Grantham area. She qualified at the University of Leeds in 2010 with a clinical distinction and joined the Maltings Dental Practice in 2012 after some time working in the Bradford area.


Claire enjoys providing all aspects of general dentistry for her patients.  She has a special interest in restorative and aesthetic dentistry and has completed a postgraduate certificate in this subject. She is also able to offer her patients Anterior Aesthetic Orthodontics which allows patients the opportunity to significantly improve their smiles without the need for significant tooth preparation enabling us to improve smiles in a conservative manner. She is able to provide Inman Aligners and Clear Aligners and transform smiles with the align, bleach and bond technique which is ultra conservative of tooth tissue.


Claire is also fully trained in Bioclear Composites which can be used as an alternative to veneers and crowns with great aesthetics, longevity and minimal tooth reduction.

Claire has been approved by the Health Education East Midlands to be an Educational Supervisor for Foundation Dental Training and is heavily involved in the career progression and mentoring for newly graduated dentists.


Outside work Claire is busy raising her young family and enjoys yoga.

Dr Michael Teft BDS L’pool 2010, MSc (Perio) UCLAN 2019 GDC 191748

Michael qualified from Liverpool dental school in 2010. Since then he has worked in a number of dental practices across the midlands, and has a wealth of experience in general dentistry. Over the last five years he has developed a special interest in periodontology, the treatment of gum disease. He completed a three-year master’s degree in clinical periodontology at the University of Central Lancashire, and now treats patients with more complex periodontal conditions.

He believes in working with his patients to help stabilise and improve their condition with an evidence-based treatment approach.

He is a member of the British Society of Periodontology and regularly attends post graduate training to remain at the forefront of emerging knowledge.

Aside from dentistry Michael enjoys cooking and trying to keep fit.


Dr Sean Walmsley BDS Kings College London 2012, GDC 228559Sean studied at Kings College London and worked in Guys, St Thomas' and Denmark Hill Hospital. He completed his dental foundation year at the Maltings Dental Practice

in 2013 with Dr Wong as his trainer.

Sean has a passion for high end dentistry and providing high quality friendly care for his patients. He has a special interest in aesthetic dentistry involving; white fillings, tooth whitening and orthodontics (having completed the cfast orthodontics course).

Outside of Dentistry Sean enjoys going for long walks with his two dogs.

Dr Amelia Coulby BDS Sheffield Eng, 2017, GDC 265477


Amelia graduated from Sheffield in 2016; Amelia was the British Dental Association representative for Sheffield Dental School. She has completed her foundation dental training at The Maltings with Dr Peter Butcher as her trainer; Amelia was also the Dental Foundation representative for her scheme. She is now working as an associate; splitting her time between Grantham and Lincoln.


Amelia enjoys all aspects of clinical dentistry in particular restorative dentistry. Amelia is dedicated to delivering a high standard of treatment and care to all of her patients and is passionate about promoting good oral health. Amelia has been elected onto the Local Dental Committee for Lincolnshire and attends regular meetings.

Amelia has moved back to Newark and lives with her partner and two kittens; Victor and Ralph. Aside from looking after her kittens Amelia enjoys keeping fit by spending time in the gym and walking.

Jack qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2017 with honours and clinical distinction. Following qualification, Jack completed his dental foundation training at the Maltings Dental Practice with Dr Claire Simpson as his trainer.

Since then, Jack has moved to Nottingham and mixes his time between The Maltings and his post as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham.

Jack enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has a particular interest in Oral Surgery. In his spare time Jack enjoys running, clay pigeon shooting and travelling.

Dr Marta Bugowska-Clarke, Specialist in Oral Surgery, Lek Stom, Warsaw 2001, GDC101044


Marta qualified from Medical University of Warsaw in Poland in 2001. Following qualification she worked in Oral Surgery Department at a very busy multi-disciplinary Specialist Referral Centre in Warsaw. She became interested in Oral Surgery and undertook a number of postgraduate courses including: Implantology, Management of temporo-mandibular joint disorders and oro-facial trauma.

Marta has successfully completed a five-year specialist training programme and has been awarded a title of the Specialist in Oral Surgery( Poland, 2008). In 2010 she became a General Dental Council Registered Specialist in Oral Surgery.

Since July 2009, she has been working as a Specialty Doctor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham providing surgical treatment under local and general anaesthesia. She joined The Maltings Dental Practice team in July 2010 providing Minor Oral Surgery sessions- surgical procedures under local anaesthetic.

Dedicated to quality of patients’ care, she spends many hours ensuring that she is up to date with the latest evidence base available.

Outside of work she enjoys a variety of sports and spending time with her young family.


Dr Anas Nashawi, DDS MSC ( Manc) Eng, MFDSRECEd, GDC104033


Anas qualified as a dentist from the University of Aleppo in Syria in 1999, he was successfully awarded a Masters degree in Oral Surgery in 2002 from the University of Manchester. Following that, he continued his training in Oral &Maxillofacial Surgery through working in various NHS hospitals across the UK, receiving a wide range of experience from working with several Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Consultants. In 2005 he successfully passed the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh exams and was elected as a member of the College in 2006 and was appointed as Specialty Dentist at North Lincolnshire NHS Trust. Anas joined Oasis Dental Care in 2007 as a part time General Dental Practitioner and following the creation of Lincolnshire Intermediate Minor Oral Surgery Service in 2008 he became involved in delivering this service from three locations in Lincolnshire; Central Lincoln, Skegness and Boston.

Anas Joined the team at the Maltings Dental Practice in 2009 to deliver a Minor Oral Surgery service from Grantham.

Abs is a Consultant in Oral surgery; he has extensive experience in all aspects of Oral Surgery, Dental Implants, and Bone Grafting procedures. He qualified in 2003 from Cairo in Egypt and moved to the UK in 2006 aspiring higher training. Since then he trained at Glasgow Dental School and Southern General Hospital, Sheffield Dental School and Royal Derby hospitals gaining experience and training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Abs has completed a specialist-training programme in Oral Surgery at Sheffield; one of Europe’s most reputable Oral Surgery centres. He is also a member of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England. Abs also worked as a Consultant in Oral Surgery at Manchester University Hospitals and is currently a Consultant in Oral Surgery at Sheffield School of Clinical Dentistry.

Specialist in Orthodontics

Dr Cheryl Tracey BDS Birm 1977, D Orth RCS Eng 1982, Msc Lond 1982, FDSRCS Eng 1983, M Orth RCS Eng 1989 Specialist in Orthodontics. GDC 51461


Cheryl is an honours graduate from the University of Birmingham and began her post-graduate training in oral surgery at the Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire Hospitals before moving back to the Birmingham Dental Hospital as a lecturer in oral surgery to the dental undergraduates. She began her orthodontic training at the Royal Dental Hospital, Leicester Square and Kingston Hospital, Surrey where she was awarded the Walther Prize in Orthodontics, She continued her advanced specialist orthodontic training at The Royal London Hospital and later Guy's and St.Thomas' Hospital where she accredited as a consultant. Cheryl holds a Master of Science degree in orthodontics as well as gaining both her Membership in Orthodontics and Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons, London.

The following sixteen years she was a partner in a German orthodontic practice and passed the German state examination in orthodontics from the University of Münster. In 2004 she returned to Rutland along with her family.

Cheryl is presently a Consultant in Orthodontics at the Glenfield Hospital, Leicester.  Cheryl also carries out sessions at the Maltings providing private orthodontics.



Mrs Kelly Chambers CEB Dip Dip H Birm Eng, 2002,GDC6097


Kelly first joined the team at the Maltings Dental Practice in 1998. She worked for two years as a dental nurse and gained her National dental nursing qualification in 2000.

Kelly then went on to study at Birmingham Dental Hospital and graduated in 2002 with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene. During her time at Birmingham Kelly was fortunate enough to be selected for a student exchange to Finland and spent 3 months there. Whilst in Finland Kelly worked in various dental hospitals and health centres. She found the work very hands on and patient based and this really helped Kelly develop her clinical skills as a student. When Kelly graduated from Birmingham she was awarded a prize for clinical excellence and voted best in practice by her tutors.

Kelly rejoined the Maltings team soon after her graduation in July 2002 and has been very happy working as a hygienist for many years now.


Mrs Koleh Rees, Dip in Dental Hygiene and Therapy Leeds Eng 2007, GDC126701


Koleh graduated from Leeds Dental Institute in 2007 as a Dental Hygienist/Therapist. Outside of her fulfilling professional life Koleh enjoys the beautiful countryside of South Lincolnshire, cycling and walking with her family. Other interests include; listening to Christian music, singing, playing her guitar, cooking and entertaining.

Helen trained at RAF Halton Dental Training school, graduating from Birmingham Dental Hospital. An experienced dental hygienist, who is very dedicated to her profession and passionate about dental hygiene.

Hayley joined the Practice in June 2001 as a trainee dental nurse. In May 2003 Hayley gained her National certificate in Dental Nursing.  Since qualifying Hayley has completed the Promotion of Oral Health certificate, Dental Radiography certificate, Dental Sedation with distinction, impression taking and gained her NVQ in Management.  Hayley was promoted to Clinical Lead in January 2011. Outside of work Hayley enjoys running with her friend and spends many weekends supporting her daughters passion for horses and dog walking adventures with her family.

Louise joined the Practice in 2000 as a young member of the reception team.  She received promotion to Senior Receptionist in 2004 where she quickly became established at her role gaining lots of experience in patient care. Louise now has nearly 10 years experience of practice management and over recent years has used her skills and knowledge to help develop other practice managers through RoseandCo with business coach Kevin Rose.  Louise has gained a Diploma in Level 4 Management to support her position.


Outside of work Louise enjoys spending time with her family and friends and also the occasional shopping trip!
