Oral Surgery

The Maltings Dental Practice carries out a full range of services, including Oral Surgery procedures.

The Maltings Dental Practice has carried out Oral Surgery procedures and accepted referrals from referring practitioner’s for over 20 years. It has a wealth of experience in carrying out such treatment.

Oral Surgery is a term used to describe removal of teeth and essentially more complex surgical procedures, such as difficult extractions and apicectomies. Details of some of the Clinicians providing Oral Surgery can be found on the practice team page. Clinicians carrying out Oral Surgery have carried out further training to gain the skills and enhance their experience to complete more complex procedures.

As the practice offers a full range of services, the practice is also able to offer combined Oral Surgery procedures along with sedation where required. This can be particularly helpful in the treatment of nervous patients to help them feel more relaxed during the treatment.

Specialists

The General Dental Council holds a list of dental specialists.

The Specialist Lists in Distinctive Branches of Dentistry enable patients to identify registered dentists who have met certain requirements and been given the right by the General Dental Council to call themselves a ‘specialist’.

Any registered dentist can work in a particular branch of dentistry (such as orthodontics or oral surgery), but only those on the Specialist Lists can call themselves a 'specialist'.
