Specialist Services
The Maltings Dental Practice carries out a full range of specialist services. The General Dental Council holds a list that is specific to these specialists
As well as the Dentists Register and Rolls of Dental Auxiliaries, the General Dental Council also holds a list of dental specialists. The Specialist Lists in Distinctive Branches of Dentistry enable patients to identify registered dentists who have met certain requirements and been given the right by the General Dental Council to call themselves a ‘specialist’. Any registered dentist can work in a particular branch of dentistry (such as orthodontics or oral surgery), but only those on the Specialist Lists can call themselves a 'specialist'.


Specialist in Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine
Mr Manu Philip BDS LDS FDRCS FFDRCSI Specialist in Oral Surgery.

Mr Shafiq Harris LDS RCS Eng 1978, FDSRCS Edin 1980 MDS Manc 1985 Specialist Oral Medicine Oral surgery.

Mr Harris carries out a range of Oral Surgery procedures including removal of broken roots, buried wisdom teeth and apicectomy procedures where conventional root treatments have failed. Mr Harris also carries out the surgical part of Implant treatment and jointly treatment plans Implant patients with Dr Wong.

Specialist in Orthodontics.
Miss Cheryl Tracey BDS Birm 1977, D Orth RCS Eng 1982, Msc Lond 1982, FDSRCS Eng 1983, M Orth RCS Eng 1989 Specialist in Orthodontic.

Miss Cheryl Tracey carries out a full range of Orthodontics privately at the Maltings Dental Practice. Miss Tracey has carried out more complex orthodontics that is beyond the scope of non specialist practitioners, as well as work that is not available on the NHS or just for patients who want to avoid the wait that is often necessary for NHS treatment.
