The Maltings Dental Practice
Our Dental Team
Introducing our new dental nurses:
Sarah (GDC 197401) joins us with 8 years dental nursing experience. Sarah has a particular interest in orthodontics.
Lady Jo joins us as a trainee dental nurse and has a keen interest in surgical procedures.
Thank you to everyone who bought coffee and cakes to support our charity event, raising money for the local Foodbank. Staff were pleased to show off their baking skills as part of the event. We managed to raise £180 which the Foodbank put towards providing essentials to help restore someone's dignity.
Our dental nurse, Julie McKie, volunteers for the Foodbank and is passionate about fundraising. The Foodbank are currently looking for 100 people to raise £50, which will purchase 5000 meals. This was one of Julie's ideas which the practice was keen to support. Many tastes were catered for, including low sugar, gluten free, vegan and even fruit and vegetable cakes.
Congratulations to one of our dentists, Oke, who completed the Lincoln half marathon for a local charity, Acts Trust, who help to eliminate poverty in Lincoln.
Our Oral Health Educators gave brushiong and diet advice to children at Great Ponton School.
The Maltings's team visited Escapology escape rooms in Nottingham and experienced success and defeats!
Congratulations to our dental nurses Alex and Claire on the safe arrival of their beautiful babies. Wishing them and their families well at this happy time.
Mouth Cancer Action Month
The Maltings Dental Practice continues to support Mouth Cancer Action Month year on year. The practice sees itself as influential in helping identify the risks and symptoms of mouth cancer with the overall aim to reduce the number of mouth cancer incidences in the UK.
The team at the practice are gearing up for a challenge to keep two bikes spinning in their waiting room for 12 hours, with an aim of clocking up 240 miles.
Donations will be accepted throughout Mouth Cancer Action Month 1 - 30th November, which will be warmly welcomed. You can donate in person or via the just giving page
In addition to the bike challenge this year, the practice will be offering Free Mouth Cancer checks to the public during the action month and using a fact day highlighting symptoms and risks of mouth cancer.
Mouth cancer can often be spotted in its early stages by a dentist during a thorough examination. Lives could be saved. Check out our latest blog on Mouth Cancer https://savingteeth.wordpress.com/2017/11/02/mouth-cancer-awareness-month-2017/
