The Maltings Dental Practice
Our Dental Team
At last the warmer weather has arrived.
We are pleased to welcome our new associate Fawad Amin to the practice. Fawad joined us in January and is quickly becoming established at the practice. Fawad has a particular interest in Endodontics for which he is studying a master’s degree.
We welcome back Alex our dental nurse after her maternity break.
Congratulations to Becky our receptionist and her partner on the safe arrival of their baby girl Olivia. Both mother and baby are doing really well.
Christina our receptionist is nearing the end of her sign language qualification. Christina has worked hard in learning sign and is looking forward to using her developing skills in practice for those who require it.
Our Swimarathon team made us proud in February by completing 180 lengths in 1 hour, beating their previous year’s total. They are delighted to have raised a good amount for local charities.
The children’s Oral Health Activity week was a great success and the children had a great deal of fun doing activities and competitions. The children gained advice from our Oral Health Educators on brushing and diet. They enjoyed seeing just how much sugar is in the sweet treats they eat, looking for healthier alternatives.
Continuing to improve oral health is an important message here at the Malting’s. We have started our work in supporting National Smile Month once again which began on May 15th and runs until June 15th. We are delivering three key messages:
-Brush your teeth last thing at night and on at least one other occasion with fluoride toothpaste.
-Cut down on how often you have sugary foods and drinks.
-Visit your dentist regularly, as often as they recommend.
We also have a ‘photo booth’ where patients and friends of, can optionally use our fun props and smiley’s and take photos to upload to our facebook page #nationalsmilemonth #mysmileyselfie #smilemonth. These will then be entered into a prize draw and the winner selected at random.
A smile is one of the most powerful and emotive gestures we can do. We can’t wait to share smiles for National Smile Month.
In addition to traditional dental procedures, our Dentist Peter Butcher now undertakes anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers. Dentists spend most of their undergraduate training developing in depth knowledge of the anatomy of the head and neck and spend a great deal of their time delivering pain free (mostly) injections. It makes sense that a dentist would be well suited to delivering these line smoothing procedures.
Peter uses Allergan’s Botox® and Juvederm® Dermal fillers.
A free consultation is required before any treatment is carried out. Like with all cosmetic treatment, Botox® and dermal fillers are not for everyone. At the Malting’s we believe in utilising the procedure to reverse the ageing process and not make you look fake.
If this interests you, please call our reception team.
We wish you a long happy summer and will be back with more news soon.
